What is a Natural High?
Start by watching the following video.
Discussion
- What sticks out to you about Tony’s story?
- What parts do you resonate with?
- How does focusing on your natural high and not the temptations help someone achieve success in their life, career and relationships?
Ask each member of the advisory to raise their right hand and take the following pledge.
Read out loud:
I pledge to grow up safe, healthy and drug free by:
- Understanding the dangers of drug use and abuse.
- Respecting myself and being drug free.
- Spreading the word to family and friends about the importance of being healthy and drug free.
Activity
Today your advisory will create a poster celebrating this year's Red Ribbon Week's theme "Be Kind to Your Mind, Live Drug Free"
Needed Materials: Supplied red materials, black pen/marker, poster paper
Instructions: (Examples below)
1. Write "Be Kind to Your Mind, Live Drug Free" large on the paper
2. Add your advisory's name & each the signature of each member to took the pledge.
3. Decorate the rest of the poster to support the theme in a creative & inspiring way.
***When you are finished please return all items in your bag back to the library by period 1. They will be hung up for the contest. Top poster in each grade will get a prize***
