Black River Middle School Advisory
The purpose of Black River Advisory is for students to engage and build connections with a teacher and a small group of peers, and to explore skills needed to excel in life. Each grade has 13 advisory groups containing a mixture of boys and girls that meet on a bi-weekly basis. These groups will endure until graduation to help facilitate peer connections. They work together to explore various topics and gain power skills that will support them academically, socially, and emotionally throughout life. Topics that are explored include leadership skills, critical thinking, managing challenges, mentoring, and community service.
