What is Advisory?
Read out loud.
Advisory has gone through a major change this year. Instead of having different grade levels in your group, you will now just have a small group of your peers. You will continue to stay with your group and teacher until you graduate. Each grade level will have different activities and topics that they will explore. There are a few activites that everyone will do together (Red Ribbon Week & Inclusion week activities, community service project, and 2 Teacher Choice days). During your time in advisory you will be able to share your highs and lows, build a stong community of new friends and learn many powerskills. Each meeting will be focused on a different powerskill. Powerskills are a set of skills that you are not nessarily taught in class but are developed. These skills help you in many ways like how to work in a team, communicate, and how to handle different situations in life.
