What is mentoring?
Read out loud.
A mentor is someone who offers his or her knowledge, wisdom and advice to someone with less experience. A mentor is someone who has walked through the same road you plan to walk. They can help fill in the gaps and help you speed up the process of learning.

Discussion
Today each 6th grade member will be paired up with a 7th grade mentor to get some great advice and tips.
Needed Materials: Mentoring Notes slips (one for each group) and students will need something to write with
Instructions:
1. Pair up students (one 6th grader with one 7th grader) and place the groups throughout the room to give them space to have a conversation.
2. Pass out the conversation slips.
3. Students are to use this time to go through as many topics as possible. Also, 7th grade mentors should add their name and email to the bottom of the slip incase their mentoree would like to contact them for more information. The 6th graders can use the back of the slip to add any other notes that they would like to remember.
