In middle school mistakes happen – it's part of learning and growing. The key is to bounce back! Instead of dwelling on them, see them as a chance to learn. Figure out what went wrong, talk to a teacher or friend for help, and try a different approach next time. Remember, everyone makes mistakes, and using them to improve shows real strength.

Today your advisory will talk about leadership and play a game.
Needed Materials: colored papers
Instructions:
1. Start by having a brief discussion:
You will play a game called Maze. The goal of the game is to learn from the 'mistakes' in order to understand the path through the maze. You may play it as many times as you would like but leave time for a reflection discussion. If you do not have enought space in your class you may play this the game in the hallway.

- Have you ever made a mistake?
- How does it make you feel?
- What did you do after it?
- Have you ever learned from a mistake? If so, what did you learn?

- Lay the papers on the ground into a 4 by 5 grid (you can mix up the colors)

- Learning and moving forward: What did you do after you created a mistake?
- Self-compassion and growth: What can you do to help you get through making a mistake?
